It was developed as a successor to the popular CyanogenMod project after it was discontinued in 2016. With its focus on privacy, security, and user customization, LineageOS allows users to install the latest version of Android on their devices long after the official support has ended, breathing new life into older hardware.

Android 14 introduces improved privacy controls, enhanced battery life optimization, broader theming options, updated notification management, advanced photo and video editing tools, superior auto-rotate accuracy, increased performance and security updates, as well as better support for foldable devices and new accessibility features for a more inclusive user experience.
